2011 Yamaha Vino Classic Recalled For Drum Brake Issue

Yamaha is recalling 2011 Vino Classic scooters because of a problem with its brakes. More specifically, the brake shoe linings may separate from the shoe due to a lack of proper adhesion, reducing brake performance and increasing the risk of a crash. The problem can affect both the front and rear drum brakes.
Yamaha Motor Corp. U.S.A. was alerted by the issue on Sept. 1 by Yamaha’s Taiwan subsidiary which produces the Vino Classic. Yamaha Motor Taiwan discovered the problem during a quality control review and testing of exported models.
Yamaha will notify owners, and dealers will replace the front and rear brake shoes, free of charge. The recall is expected to begin in early October 2013. Owners may contact Yamaha at 1-800-962-7926.
